Three Days Grace emerged out of the ashes of a band called Groundswell formed by Adam Gontier (vocals, guitar), Brad Walst (bass), Neil Sanderson (drums) and two others in their native Norwood, Ontario, Canada in 1992. Five years later, the group was stripped down to a trio comprised of Gontier, Walst and Sanderson. They changed their name and relocated to Toronto, where they met producer Gavin Brown. After hearing a private set, Brown was intrigued and aided the trio in producing a demo for EMI Music Publishing Canada.
On the strength of their single "(I Hate) Everything About You," Three Days Grace inked a publishing deal with EMI and soon signed a record contract with Jive. Brown traveled with the band to Boston, Mass., where they set to work on their debut album. The band's eponymous debut was eventually recorded in sleepy Woodstock, N.Y. and showed influences by the likes of Sunny Day Real Estate and Kyuss. By the time the album arrived on shelves in July 2003, "(I Hate) Everything About You" was already an alternative radio staple in Canada.
Three Days Grace spent the following two years on the road in support of their debut, and the feelings of isolation felt on tour fueled the band's next album, 2006's One-X. Three Days Grace's sophomore album peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart and was also the first album featuring second guitarist Barry Stock. While touring alongside Staind, Nickelback and Hoobastank, the now-four piece band enjoyed the success of No. 1 modern rock hit "Animal I Have Become" off the album.
Life Starts Now, their third full-length album, arrived in 2009 and has kept the band busy on the road. So busy, in fact, that the Toronto-based band wasn't able to make it to the recent Winter G Games in Aspen, Colo. The four rockers are apparently big action sports fans, and ESPN reports that they provided three songs-"Riot," "Break" and "The Good Life"-for ESPN's coverage of the X Games to make up for not being able to be there. ... Three Days Grace announce tour dates with Breaking Benjamin for 2010 : Three Days Grace will begin a co-headline tour with Breaking Benjamin in Peoria, IL. on January 15th at the Peoria Civic Center. In addition to these dates there will be more shows announced in the upcoming weeks. Unfortunately, there are no dates as scheduled in the Southeast at all. Charleston folks may have to wait a little longer to see these bands locally.
Some in the Charleston area may remember that Three Day Grace was the opener for Nickelback when they made a tour stop at the North Charleston Coliseum in the summer of 2007. Some concert goers seemed to be more enamored with the guys from Three Days Grace. The guys clearly made an impression on the audience. There were even shouts for them to perform an encore after Nickelback left the stage. But of course, they did not.
The guys from Three Days Grace released their third album Life Starts Now in September of this year and have enjoyed success of their first single “Break” burning up the rock charts. After their 2006 breakout hit album, One-X, this band has come out with another great rock record with a sound that they have been developing over the past several years. They have come up with a mix of alternative-metal and hard rock sound that seems to resonate with rock fans of all varieties. Now, they will be co-headlining with Breaking Benjamin and have brought Flyleaf on board as an opening act.
For details about the tour and a list of all announced dates head over to ThreeDaysGrace.com and make sure to get the on-sale dates on your calendar! And hopefully tour dates will come to the Southeast. ... Source Article ...

Three Days Grace Biography and Brief Information: Jive Recording Artist Three Days Grace is back, gearing up to tour with Staind for 25 US dates, and getting ready to release its sophomore album One-X. This follows their 2003 self-titled platinum album, which saw Adam, Neil, Brad, and Barry on the road with such bands as Hoobastank, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down, Evanescence, and Nickleback. The band will tour the US, beginning April 20th in McAllen, TX, finishing at the end of June, just in time for the release of One-X.
Hailing from Canada, Three Days Grace find a way to rock hard, without losing the emotional, real connection they have to their audience. With songs from One-X that unleash sharp, relentless harmonies, matched with razor edged lyrics, the band is poised to take over the music scene once again.
One-X was produced by Howard Benson, mixed by Chris Lord-Alge and mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in Los Angeles.
According to lead singer Adam Gontier, Animal I Have Become, the first single off One- X, is “my realization that change had to happen, I had to ask for help.” With stomping bass lines backing him up, Gontier pleads, "Somebody get me through this nightmare / I can't control myself." Adam’s lyrics are both surprisingly open and defiantly delivered in the line: "So what if you can see / the darkest side of me." Animal I Have Become will impact Modern, Alternative and mainstream Rock on April 10th.
Prior to recording One-X throughout the later part of 2005, the band toured for over 2 years to sold-out crowds in support of their debut platinum album, Three Days Grace, which produced 3 hit singles. “I Hate Everything About You” peaked at #2 on Modern & Active charts and stayed there for 47 weeks. “Just Like You” was # 1 on Billboard New Artist Chart for 3 weeks, and according to Mediabase, was the second most played Rock song of 2004. “Home” entered Top 5 on both Billboard Active and Modern Charts. All three singles received heavy play on Fuse, MTV 2, and Much Music, leading to the band’s nomination for Best New Artist in the 2004 Billboard Awards and the 2004 Juno Awards.
